Voters May Decide Fate Of Lansing City Market
The fate of The Lansing City Market is still up in the air, but it may soon be decided by voters.
According to WILX 10, "Lansing Mayor Andy Schor is asking the city council to put a proposal to sell the city market on the November ballot." However, Lansing's Planning and Parks Board will review the request before it even makes it to the city council and possibly the ballot for voters to vote on.
In the mean time, there's been a petition started to save the city market. Owners of the Waterfront Bar & Grill, which still resides in the market, started the petition because they say the city is making decisions about the market without first asking the community.
At this time, it still seems like the fate of Lansing City Market is still up in the air. Get more details on it here.
