After months of uncertainty and speculation, the Waterfront Bar & Grill finally closed it's doors last Friday after a last get together with patrons, employees and local entertainers. The popular watering hole/restaurant was located in The City Market building downtown at 325 City Market Drive, and was situated behind the Lansing Center and along the Grand River.

According to WILX-TV, the area of The City Market that was occupied by the Waterfront has now been completely cleaned out. The City Market is owned by the City of Lansing and managed by the Lansing Entertainment Public Facilities Authority (LEPFA).

The Waterfront Bar & Grill had long been in court battles with the City of Lansing over a lease that was a multiple year agreement. It finally came down to the Waterfront and Lansing being unable to come to an agreement that would allow the bar & grill to continue doing business in the Market.
