Matt LeBlanc’s New Show Might Be Set in Flint, Michigan
OK. This was not on Michigan's 2026 bingo card.
Word is Matt LeBlanc — yeah, Joey from "Friends" — is working on a new TV pilot for CBS called "Flint." And yes... as in Flint, Michigan.
Let's peel this back a little more.
LeBlanc is best known for his work in comedy. This new "Flint" show is decidedly different, according to TV Line.
What We Know About the New ‘Flint’ TV Pilot
"Flint" has LeBlanc playing a burned-out LAPD detective who's basically got one foot out the door, ready to retire... until the city hits him with a "nah, you're working five more years."
So what does he do?
He decides to intentionally get fired. Breaks rules. Ignores orders. Pushes buttons.
And — get this — all his efforts backfire and somehow make him a better cop.

You may be asking yourself — what does that have to do with Flint, Michigan?
That part hasn't been made crystal clear just yet, but the Facebook page Friends Unseen claims LeBlanc's character "leaves Los Angeles behind to start over in Flint, Michigan — a city facing deep economic and social challenges."
Hmm.
When Could ‘Flint’ Actually Hit TV?
Right now the show is in the development stages. Writers are said to be just now working everything out. The earliest we could realistically see the show on CBS would be the 2027-28 season. Of course, they could scrap it altogether before anything ever even comes to fruition.

The main takeaway here — if "Flint" makes it to TV — do not expect "Joey" with a badge. This looks like it'll be deeper and darker and a juicy new role for LeBlanc as an actor.
