New Floral-Inspired Café Opens in Lansing
Lansing foodies, have you heard the news?
Lansing's restaurant boom from 2025 seems to be continuing into 2026. Another new eatery has opened — and this one has a fun, floral twist.
A New Café Joins Lansing’s Growing Food Scene
The newest addition to the restaurant landscape is PetalPop Cafe.
The eatery officially opened on March 16 and has been busy serving breakfast and lunch since then.
Where PetalPop Café Is Located in Lansing
The cafe opened at 519 W. Ionia Street in Lansing, which previously housed SaltRock Brewing Co. for less than a year.
PetalPop Cafe takes its name and flower influences from the building's even older history.

The cafe is the former site of Belen's Flowers, which was owned by Lucile Belen, a former Lansing City Councilperson. For decades, she owned the flower shop there, and even founded Belen's School of Floral Design back in the '50s.
You can see the flower inspiration on the walls, light fixtures, ceiling, and food flavors.
What’s on the Menu at PetalPop Café
You can get certain food and drinks (think pancakes and mocktails) infused with hints of hibiscus, rose, or lavender.
Not everything comes with a hint of flower, though. If you take a look through the menu, there are lots of savory items available for breakfast and lunch offerings.

So far, PetalPop Cafe joins a decent list of eateries that have opened in greater Lansing so far this year. We've also seen Cinnamon Lane Bakery, Bubbakoo's Burritos, Shake Shack, YaYa's Kitchen, and more open their doors. If you want to see what else is hoping to open this year, check out the list here.
