3 East Lansing Restaurants Are Moving, But They’re Not Closing

Have you been to East Lansing recently? I swear, it looks different every day.

Speaking of looking different every day, there has been some shuffling around of three East Lansing restaurants. I say shuffling because nothing has officially closed, but there has been some movement.

Poké Fresh Has Moved to a New Spot

To start, Poké Fresh has moved. Poké Fresh is a fast-casual Hawaiian-style restaurant that serves poké bowls (a traditional Hawaiian dish made with raw fish, rice, veggies, and sauces). Although Poké Fresh has moved locations, the address has stayed the same...

While still located at 551 E. Grand River Avenue Avenue in East Lansing, Poké Fresh used to face Grand River Avenue. Now, Poké Fresh is down the alley located at the back part of the same building, in the space where University Weiner used to be. They made that move in mid June.

What Happened to University Weiner in East Lansing?

And that brings us to our next restaurant shuffle: University Weiner has temporarily closed its East Lansing location. Currently, University Weiner has its newly opened location in Lansing Shuffle. However, Poké Fresh took over its old location. So when—and where—will University Weiner reopen in East Lansing?

There's no official word yet, however general manager Corbin Swint told City Pulse that the East Lansing spot would be "shifting locations". Plus, Google currently lists the business as "temporarily closed" as well. So we'll have to keep our eye out for that.

For Crêpe Sake Is Moving to Grand River

Another change we'll be keeping our eye on is one that involves For Crêpe Sake. Don't worry, it's not closing, it's moving!

Currently, For Crêpe Sake is located at 211 M.A.C. in East Lansing. However, it's going to be moving to 601 E. Grand River Avenue—the old Taco Bell at the corner of Bailey Street and Grand River (right next to Insomnia Cookies). The former Taco Bell closed in early 2022. which closed in early 2022.

For Crêpe Sake made the announcement on its Facebook page at the end of July, however, there's no word just yet on when that move will take place. For now, the inside of the former Taco Bell is empty, but it still very much looks like an old Taco Bell inside. In the meantime, For Crêpe Sake will remain open at its location on M.A.C.
