One of Lansing’s Favorite Restaurants Is Finally Open Again
One of Lansing's favorite restaurants has reopened its doors, and it looks a little different inside.
Naing Myanmar Family Restaurant is one of Lansing's favorite eateries.
So it's no surprise that when it reopened on Monday, December 15, after being closed for over a month and a half, you couldn't find a spot to park for lunch. Believe me... I tried.
Why Naing Myanmar Closed Temporarily
Owners Moe Israel and Mi Thanda, husband-and-wife duo, closed the restaurant starting October 29 so the restaurant could be remodeled and expanded for dine-in.
Naing Myanmar finally reopened its doors on December 15 to huge crowds. This is the first time that the restaurant has been open for dine-in since the pandemic.
It has been so wonderful to see this family and business grow since Naing Myanmar Family Restaurant first opened in 2013. Especially after going through an ordeal with the landlord and BWL back in 2017. The community banded together at that time to raise $10,000 to help the family and get the restaurant's water turned back on.
They survived the pandemic, and now, they've expanded their restaurant and they own the grocery store next door. Lansing is so happy to see them thrive.
Here's a look at the inside of the newly renovated restaurant. But really, you should just stop by and get some garlic chicken and see it for yourself.
