A longtime local favorite in Dimondale is closing its doors.

MorningLory Cafe Closing After Eight Years

After eight years of serving and being part of the community, MorningLory Cafe & Bakery will be closing soon. The owner, Lori Conarton, has decided to retire and sell the business.

Lori first opened the eatery in 2018 after spending 31 years working as communication director of the Insurance Alliance of Michigan. Lori worked hard through the pandemic, faced rising inflation costs head-on, and successfully ran the business during those eight years.

When MorningLory Cafe & Bakery is Closing

If you would like to grab your favorite bite to eat and wish a happy retirement to Lori, the cafe and bakery will close on August 1.

However, this may not necessarily be the end for this eatery, as Lori is hoping to sell the restaurant. With that comes rights to the brand, as well as all the equipment and supplies for the bakery and cafe. Additionally, Lori is "willing to offer support and guidance to the right buyer and share MorningLory's recipes if they ask for them."

So far, Lori has met with several interested buyers, but no other information about a potential purchase has been disclosed at this time.

MorningLory Cafe & Bakery will surely be missed. Since Lori first announced her retirement and plans to sell the business on Facebook on July 12, the post has received over 500 reactions, 200 comments, and 96 shares.
