Lansing’s Oldest Restaurant Is Closing

One of the first places I had dinner when I moved to town almost 18 years ago was Emil's.

It was a favorite hang out of some of my co-workers at the time, who were big fans of the risotto, and many of the other great Emil's menu items. In fact, I don't believe there was a bad item on the menu.

It's sad to see that the restaurant will be closing at the end of the month. The good news for Emil's is that they are going in a different direction and there will be new ways that some of their great cuisine can still be enjoyed, according to their facebook page.

While we didn't get to Emil's as much as we used to, I'm gonna miss going in there from time to time and enjoying a meal. I always loved the food and the atmosphere.

It was a real classic.

Guess I'll be making plans to get back to Emil's one last time before they close the doors. I wonder if they still have those batter-dipped artichoke hearts with the horseradish sauce on the side...that was some really great stuff.
