Michigan State’s Zeke the Wonderdog Makes History With This First
If you know Michigan State University, you know that Zeke the Wonderdog is an honorary name. It's bestowed upon the best frisbee-catching dog that represents the green and white.
Sadly, Zeke IV, whose real name was Buckshot, passed away recently. MSU made the announcement on January 20, 2026.
Meet Cindy Lou, Zeke V
Now, Zeke V, aka Cindy Lou, is ready to take the field.
Jim Foley is Cindy Lou's owner, and he says that Cindy Lou is a "controlled explosion" and "ready to go". He would know—Jim has been the owner and trainer of the last four of the five Zeke the Wonderdogs.

Cindy Lou is seven years old and has trained alongside her predecessor her entire life to get ready to step into this role. She's going to be catching frisbees in front of thousands of MSU fans in no time!
The Legacy of Zeke the Wonderdog
Zeke the Wonderdog is an MSU tradition that dates back to a halftime stunt in 1977. It went so well that they decided to keep Zeke the Wonderdog going. The original Zeke, whose name was Ezekiel, held the spot from 1977 to 1984.
After an 18 year pause, Zeke II took the field from 2002 to 2007. Since 2002, there's always been a Zeke the Wonderdog.
