If you haven't been to the MSU Museum recently, you may hardly recognize it these days!

MSU Museum Reopens After Major Renovations

The MSU Museum reopened in mid-January after closing in July 2024 for major renovations. These were the first major renovations that the museum has received in 75 years.

During that 18-month time period, $28 million was used to make a lot of upgrades, including:

  • a new HVAC system for better climate control
  • improved lighting
  • ADA-compliant restrooms
  • new windows
  • more interactive displays
  • a new opening exhibit
  • an improved student area

There are so many cool exhibits to see at this museum, including lots of dinosaur bones! What makes this museum really special is there are lots of ways to explore and experiment with some interactive exhibits and displays.

This is definitely the kind of place that is family-friendly while also being budget-friendly because it has free admission! Plus, the museum hosts all kinds of special events throughout the year.
