It looked just like this.

Last night at around 11:30 I was working on this entry to our website, about a completely different subject, when all of a sudden...the lights...went off...then back on...then back off...then back on...then off...and...then not back on. It was raining a little, but not storming so I wasn't sure what had happened to cause the outage.

All I know is that our lights were off, and every light in my neighborhood was out and you couldn't see your hand in front of you. Pitch black. By the time I had stumbled around and found a flashlight and a little battery powered lantern, my wife woke up and came into the living room and announced, "The power went out".

"Thank you dear, I was still trying to get a handle on what happened".
