Is Faster Horses Happening in 2025?

Longtime attendees of Michigan's premier country music festival are worried that a 2025 installment may not be happening.

Every year since 2013 (except for 2020 - we all know why that year was cancelled), the Faster Horses Festival has brought dozens of country music's top entertainers to the grounds of Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan, for a 3-day regional festival like no other in the state.

Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and HARDY headlined Faster Horses in 2024. Past headliners have also included Chris Stapleton, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, Eric Church, Tim McGraw and others.

The festival has typically occurred each year since its inception on the third Friday, Saturday and Sunday of July. Official dates are usually announced the fall prior, with headliners and support acts revealed by late January or early February.

Is Faster Horses Still Happening This Year?

Faster Horses superfans note that there's been a departure from the norm as far as what usually happens at this point of the cycle.

Even into 2025, the festival's official website still features the 2024 dates with a message relaying "2025 DETAILS TO BE ANNOUNCED". The fact that 2025 dates haven't already been revealed to the general public has some longtime fans concerned that a 2025 installment of Faster Horses may not happen.

The Faster Horses 2025! group on Facebook - not affiliated with the festival itself - is full of conjecture from fans. Not knowing the dates for this year's presumed festival presented a problem for those required to request vacation time by their workplaces at the beginning of the new year.

Longtime attendee James Shiel posted "I will just say that we have been going for the last 8 years and the dates have never been released this late. They used give the dates on Sunday after the last headliner. Then it wasn't until the end of October and then around Black Friday. Never been this late."

For its part, Michigan International Speedway's online schedule still has the third weekend of July open - presumably for Faster Horses 2025 to take place, despite no official word from the festival.
