Girl Power: 12 Female Superstars Playing Michigan in 2023
Musical artists from all genres will criss-cross the Mitten State throughout 2023, including headlining shows from a dozen female powerhouses.
Here's to the some of the hardest working women in entertainment.
Taylor Swift, Detroit, June 9 & 10
Taylor Swift became a household name in country music as a teen, then segued to pop a few years later. Those who've seen her current tour say to be prepared for a solid three hours of amazing entertainment, honoring all the singer's "eras".

TLC, Clarkston, June 25
TLC originally took its name from the first initials of its three members' nicknames - Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. "Left Eye" was killed in a car accident in Honduras in 2002. "T-Boz" and "Chilli" carry on the group's legacy and will bring "Creep", "Waterfalls" and all their other hits to Pine Knob in June.

Anita Baker, Clarkston, July 2
July 2 will mark a sort of homecoming for Grammy-winning songstress Anita Baker. She was raised in Detroit, and got her start in music in Motown.

Shania Twain, Brooklyn, July 16
Shania Twain is the headliner that will close out the 2023 edition of the Faster Horses Music Festival. She has sold more than 100 million records, and has the distinction of being the best-selling female artist in country music history.

Beyoncé, Detroit, July 26
Beyoncé first rose to prominence as a member of Destiny's Child. She officially went solo after the group disbanded in the mid-2000s, and never looked back. Along with Taylor Swift, Beyoncé is one of two female superstars to headline Detroit's Ford Field in 2023.

Madonna, Detroit, August 5
Can you believe Madonna's been busting out hits for 40 years? The native Michigander brings all her hits to Detroit this summer.

Pink, Detroit, August 16
Not just any female powerhouse would take on a venue like Detroit's Comerica Park, but Pink will this August.

The Chicks, Grand Rapids, August 17
The (Dixie) Chicks appeared poised for a lengthy career in country music before their collective career was almost derailed in 2003 by off-hand remarks that many country music fans found offensive. While they never regained the traction they lost in radio, the fans who've stuck by them have allowed The Chicks' superstar status to endure via live performance.

Carrie Underwood, Mt. Pleasant, August 24
Carrie Underwood played Detroit in February, but apparently loved Michigan so much she wanted to see it in the summertime. She'll play Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mt. Pleasant with pop's Colbie Caillat.

Lauren Daigle, Grand Rapids, September 14
Before you say "Who?", let's look at the career of Lauren Daigle. She is a multi-Grammy winner whose song "You Say" topped Billboard's Hot Christian Singles chart for a record 129 weeks. Do the math - that's almost two and a half years. That's a superstar.

Stevie Nicks, Detroit, November 7
Stevie Nicks is the first woman in the history of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to have been inducted twice - once as a member of the legendary band Fleetwood Mac, and a second time by virtue of her amazingly successful solo career. She plays Detroit this November.
