August is simply too stacked. It was hard enough to narrow them down to the best dozen, much less decide which ones were the absolute best.

So — in chronological order — here are the 12 Michigan concerts you don't want to miss this August.

August 1: Lynyrd Skynyrd & Foreigner

When you get the chance to see two legendary rock bands the same night, you take it.

A couple of country's biggest stars play Detroit's Ford Field together in August.

August 14: Eric Church

August 15: Bryan Adams with Pat Benatar

Two of rock's most iconic voices will be performing together in Detroit.

August 18: Megan Moroney

I had the opportunity to see Megan Moroney on her "Cloud 9" tour earlier this year in Grand Rapids, and it was a sea of pink.

She brings that same energy to Detroit's Little Caesars Arena on August 18.


August 22: Thomas Rhett

One of country's most energetic superstars is coming to Grand Rapids.

August 22: Outlaw Music Festival

Willie Nelson is 93, and his annual Outlaw Music Festival is still going strong.

This year's installment happens at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston on August 22. Beyond Nelson and family, the festival also features appearances from The Avett Brothers, Lukas Nelson, Stephen Wilson Jr., Sierra Hull, and Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble.


August 23: TLC, Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue

Some of R&B's most powerful and popular 90s acts converge upon Pine Knob on August 23.
