Michigan’s 11 Best Concerts This September Are Absolutely Loaded
September apparently looked at Michigan's concert calendar and said, "You people don't need money anyway."
Seriously. This month is ridiculous.
Country legends. '80s icons. '90s nostalgia. One of the biggest new voices in music. Mr. Worldwide himself. And Eric freaking Clapton.
So naturally, I did what nobody asked me to do and I ranked them.
Here are my picks for the 11 best concerts coming to Michigan this September. Feel free to disagree. You'll be wrong, but feel free.
11. Pitbull
Let's get this out of the way. You know exactly what you're signing up for with Pitbull.
You're going to hear a ridiculous number of songs you forgot you knew every word to, and you're going to dance whether that's normally your thing or not.
Mr. Worldwide brings the party to Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston on September 9, then moves it over to Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids on September 10.
10. TLC
If you're of a certain age, I really shouldn't have to sell you on this one.
"No Scrubs." "Waterfalls." "Creep."
There. Sold.
TLC was responsible for a pretty significant chunk of the soundtrack to the 1990s, and hearing thousands of people collectively inform all scrubs that they remain unwanted sounds like the perfect way to spend the evening of September 3 at Acrisure Amphitheater.

Oh, and Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue are going to be there, too. Bonus!
9. Kane Brown
Kane Brown has become one of those artists who can shift from country one minute to pop or R&B the next with ease. He's also built up a pretty impressive stack of hits along the way.
Kane takes over Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant on September 12. It's one of the biggest country shows of the month, and probably one of its loudest crowds too.
8. Alanis Morissette
Experiencing an evening with Alanis Morissette should qualify as group therapy for all of us in Generation X.
She was supposed to play Soaring Eagle in July, but that show got rescheduled to September 19 because of wildfire smoke and unhealthy air quality levels.
7. The B-52s
Sophisticated? No.
Fun? Absolutely.
The B-52s and Devo play Acrisure Amphitheater together on September 19.
6. Gene Simmons
KISS retired from touring. Gene Simmons did not.
The Demon himself comes to Battle Creek on September 19 for a show at FireKeepers Casino Hotel. Whether you've been a KISS fan for 50 years or just want to see one of the most recognizable rockers in the world standing just a few feet away from you, this is a pretty cool opportunity.
Also, can we discuss September 19? Alanis AND The B-52s AND Gene Simmons? Choices!
5. Billy Idol
The spiky blond hair and the leather jacket may seem a little unusual for a man who's going to be 71 in November. But this is Billy Idol.
Let's see. "White Wedding." "Rebel Yell." "Dancing With Myself." "Eyes Without a Face." "Mony Mony." If you spent any amount of time near a radio in the '80s, this show at Acrisure Amphitheater on September 11 is pretty much calling your name.
4. Teddy Swims
Teddy Swims went from "Have you heard this guy?" to his own show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on September 29 awfully fast.
Then again, have you HEARD this guy?
He's gone from "Lose Control" to cruise control just like that.
Teddy Swims might be the coolest concert to catch this month in Michigan. He's an artist who's already huge, but still feels like he's climbing.
3. Luke Bryan
This isn't just another Luke Bryan concert. It's his Farm Tour.
Luke literally takes the show out of the arenas and amphitheaters and sets up shop on a farm. This year's Michigan stop brings him back to Allegan.
2. Brooks & Dunn
If you're a country fan, this duo basically provided the soundtrack to the '90s.
You've got two chances to catch Brooks & Dunn in Michigan this September: at Pine Knob on the 24th, and again at Acrisure Amphitheater on the 25th.
1. Eric Clapton
September 6. Little Caesars Arena. This is the one. The single most important concert of September 2026 in Michigan.
Eric Clapton isn't simply someone who's had a bunch of hits. He has been part of rock history for more than six decades.
At some point, you stop looking at a concert like this as "Should I spend the money?" and start looking at it as, "How many more chances am I realistically going to get?"
Eric Clapton in Detroit gets my vote as Michigan's must-see concert of September.
Now excuse me while I try to figure out how I'm going to pay for all of these tickets.
