This is the time of year when we let our imaginations run wild, and that's what makes Halloween fun. Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night after hearing strange noises? This just happened to me a few weeks ago. I was sound asleep and I heard someone shout my name. I sat up in bed with a big chill.  Was it real, or was it just a dream? To be honest I'm not sure.

I think I do believe in ghosts. I really did as a kid growing up on the southside of Chicago.  Coffins and cemeteries scared me in my preteen years. I went to high school at Bremen H.S. which is in Midlothian, IL. It's about 30 miles south of Chicago. The town is also home to Bachelor's Grove Cemetery. All the scary things I heard about the place made me leery to go near it. Whenever I drove by it, the sight gave me an eerie feeling.

Kids used to spend the night there to catch ghosts in action. No amount of money could talk me into spending the night there back then or today. It actually got to a point where police used to have to stake out the place and send people home that were curious about all the stories. It's a small cemetery with only 82 graves and has been around since 1840. Some report seeing a "Lady In White" over the many years. Check that story out here from atlasobscura.com.
