
These Lansing Streets Have the Worst Potholes — Are You On the List?
It's no secret that Michigan is basically synonymous with potholes.
Seriously—you can't drive on a single road or interstate in Michigan without encountering one pothole or another. And some are worse than others.
You have those potholes that you see and just keep right on driving, not changing direction, knowing that you and your car are going to be okay.
Then, you have those potholes that make you change lanes, swerve, and white-knuckle the steering wheel. THOSE are the potholes I'm concerned about in Lansing.

I know where some of these treacherous potholes are, but I didn't want to limit it to my driving radius, so I asked "Where are the worst potholes in Lansing?". Turns out, the more appropriate question might have been "What Lansing roads have NO potholes?"... the list of answers would have been a whole lot shorter.
The Worst Potholes in Lansing
If you're out there driving in the greater Lansing area, here are some spots that have the worst potholes around. Please note that some of these are specific spots and others are entire stretches of road, because it wouldn't be Michigan unless a whole stretch of road sucked.
- Pennsylvania Avenue between Kalamazoo and 496
- Edgewood Boulevard between Washington and M99
- Miller between MLK and Waverly
- 127 between Lake Lansing and Saginaw
- Kalamazoo between 127 and Pennsylvania
- Baker between Washington and Cedar
And this is just to start. There are LOTS of bad potholes in Lansing.
How to Report Potholes in Lansing
If you come across a particularly bad pothole, you can actually report it to the City of Lansing. The potholes are typically addressed within 24-48 hours, according to the city website.
