Why Doesn't Lansing Dye A River Green For St. Patrick's Day?

This has been a question plaguing my mind for the past few days now, and I feel like it's one that genuinely needs to be answered!

We are even home to the Spartans in East Lansing, so why not dye a river green here in Lansing for something like St. Patrick's day?

If any city in America deserves to dye a river green, I'd have to say, it should be us!

Chicago isn't the only one who likes to celebrate St. Patricks Day, in fact, cities across the country like hoping in on the fun.

The empire state building has been known to go pure green at the top to celebrate the holiday.

The leaning tower of Pisa even goes green for St. Patrick's Day, so why here in Lansing do we not do something big to celebrate the holiday?

Rivers In Lansing We Could Dye For The Holiday

I don't know about you, but I think it would be rather cool to dye a river here in Lansing green for a few days.

The Grand River in downtown Lansing would be awesome to turn green. You could see the capital building, yet enjoy a gree river on a stroll.

Another possibility would be the extension of the Grand River and turn the Red Cedar River green.

Given that, I don't know how long the dye would last, and if it would be worth dying these Lansing rivers, but imagine the name recognition just for doing such a thing.
