UPDATE: The University of Michigan has decided to actually show "American Sniper" at the original time and place on Friday night. Here are the details. Congratulations to the U of M for making the right decision. Score one for the good guys.

---------------

The University of Michigan has decided to cancel this Friday's screening of the movie "American Sniper" after 300 students and some staff complained that it perpetuates "negative and misleading stereotypes against Muslims". Instead (and I'm not making this up) they'll be showing "Paddington Bear".

I guess I shouldn't be surprised in this day and age when something like this happens, and I would never take away the right of anybody to protest, but you would think this would be a great opportunity (in an academic setting) for the college to say, "let's let everybody watch the movie, and then we'll talk about it".

But apparently that's just me being open minded. Crazy, huh?

To the students and staff of U of M involved in this, (and I know it wasn't a huge number of U of M students or staff) I doubt you would be able to stomp up and down and protest like this in a lot of places in the world...especially places where radical Islam has taken over. Places where Chris Kyle was operating in an effort to make sure the resident Muslim population was safe from terrorists. Places where terrorists had a price on Chris' head and were trying to kill him. Until he killed them first.

Because Chris was a SEAL sniper and that's what snipers do.

I wonder what ISIS would think about you going to school at the University of Michigan. Especially if you're a woman. But, thanks to guys like Chris Kyle, you don't have to worry about that in Ann Arbor.

So enjoy your little hissy fit. I'm sure if this hadn't worked, you could've had your parents call and get it done.

Enjoy the world class education you're getting at U of M.

And enjoy your screening of "Paddington Bear".
