Starting Monday, you'll have a new place to hike and fish in Michigan.

Ottawa County bought about 350 acres bordering the Grand River near Grand Haven. "Ottawa Sands" used to be part of a sand mine called the Ottawa Sand Company. The new park will have a bout a mile frontage on the Grand River, an 80 acre man-made lake and four miles of trails for hiking.

According to MLive.com, there will be a beach area on the lake, but for now there's no swimming allowed. However, you can go fishing there right away, as long as you don't use live bait. And there's a "no watercraft" rule on the lake.

Looks like another good destination when you play hooky next time.

Here's the story.
