Money For Roads On Horizon, But Not Before I’ll Need New Shocks
WHAT THE HECK, Y’ALL? THE STREETS IN LANSING SUUUUUCCCCKKKK!!!
Listen, I’m a country girl, okay? I grew up on the Oklahoma plains. We’ve got BAD roads in Oklahoma. If you’ve ever been on a road trip driving along I-40 then you know what I’m talking about. I’ve driven farm equipment down roads that shouldn’t really have been classified as such. They were more a “lane” or a “trail.” My current driveway in the boondocks of Rockingham County, Virginia is a 24° incline and rutted about 6” deep in some places. We also have several berms (aka Dukes of Hazzard "Ye Ha!" bumps) across the three-quarter mile trek. In other words, my driveway is a steep, back country road, that'll bounce your grandpa's teeth right out his mouth. I know bad roads and y’all got ‘em.
It's a matter of mathematics. I’ve taken four different routes to the radio station since starting. My morning caffeinated beverage has been spilled four times. In other words, Lansing roads are batting 1.000 when it comes to my lack of full caffeination and about .500 on the third degree burn count.

I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. I see the pylons and the barrels. I know they’re being worked on. In fact, last month WWMT reported that Michigan lawmakers have passed house bills that will put 3.2 billion dollars into road repair throughout the state. WLNS stated that some smaller communities will be receiving grants to repair their roads. I hope that this means roads will get better here in Capitol City.

But since they probably WON’T be better before I leave in May, let me throw out a challenge to the WITL Fam residing in the Lansing area:
TELL ME THE WORST ROAD/STREET IN LANSING
Head to the WITL app or the Facebook page and let me know what you think the worst road in Lansing is. Or, better yet, send pictures or video. I'll compile the top three worst roads in Lansing and compare them with my back road country driveway.
Which is the worst, one of the streets of Lansing, or my Virginia driveway? We’ll find out before I leave in May. Stay tuned to the WITL Wake-Up Show, where we’ll also be updating the odds on whether or not I’ll need new shocks before I head back home.
