Buca di Beppo & Other Michigan Restaurants That We Lost in 2024
While there may have been restaurant openings across the state (Lansing definitely saw its fair share), Michigan sadly saw many closings as well.
There were several notable closures too, with some restaurants no longer even residing within the state.
Michigan Restaurant Closures in 2024
Here's a look back at 2024 and what major restaurants closed across Michigan.
JR's Hometown Grill and Pub
JR's had locations throughout southeast Michigan; Adrian, Tecumseh, Brooklyn, and Milan. However, all those locations suddenly closed their doors in January.
The Dearborn location closed very suddenly in April, leaving only three locations across the state of Michigan.
Buca di Beppo
Buca di Beppo not only closed all of its Michigan locations in August, but they also filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy shortly after.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit
Dickey's Barbecue Pit is the largest BBQ chain in the nation. However, throughout 2024, it closed almost 100 locations, with many of them right here in Michigan, including the Lansing location.
Black Rock Bar & Grill
Black Rock Bar & Grill is a Michigan-based restaurant with multiple locations across the state. However, they closed a west Michigan mall location on New Year's Eve. The Grand Rapids/Kentwood area is expecting a new restaurant to take its place.
Restaurants weren't the only chain closures Michigan saw in 2024. In May, all 19 locations of Rue21 clothing retailer in Michigan closed their doors.
