Jordyn Wieber Named New Arkansas Gymnastics Coach

DeWitt native and Olympic gold medalist Jordyn Wieber (pictured) has been named the new head women's gymnastics coach at the University of Arkansas on Wednesday afternoon.

Wieber was the women's individual all-around world champion in 2011, and was a member of the gold medal-winning United States women's gymnastics team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

After graduating from DeWitt HS in 2013, she headed west to attend UCLA.  There, she became a volunteer assistant coach on the women's gymnastics program.

Wieber, 23, is also a member of the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame.  She was inducted in 2016.
