
Hoping Our Nurses Get All That They Need, Sparrow Nurses Will Vote on a Strike
Our nurses have many duties like caring for patients, dealing with doctors, administering medicine, and checking vital signs. My daughter is a nurse and she says they make up the biggest healthcare jobs in the U.S, and career growth for nurses is projected to increase by 16% in the next 10 years.
They play a vital role in medical facilities here in Michigan and everywhere. according to gmercyu.edu. Nurses are life-savers and wait till you hear this, there are more than 3 million registered nurses in the United States. In fact, nurses outnumber doctors 3:1 in the health care industry.

Here is the latest on the nurse situation at Sparrow Hospital according to wilx.com, they will vote on whether or not to give their union the go-ahead to call a strike. contract talks have not been going well.
Here Is What Our Nurses Are Fighting For
Caregivers at Sparrow are fighting for better wages and other benefits, the tug of war has been happening since July.
In talking about these negotiations, Vice President of the Professional Employee Council of Sparrow Hospital Kevin Glaza said we need fair wages, caregivers could not possibly be more clear about what is necessary to be able to recruit and retain the staff we need, but sparrow executives just don’t want to listen.
Let's all hope this can be worked out soon. Our nurses and caregivers do deserve good wages and to be taken care of. The voting for a strike will supposedly start today and run through Nov. 21st. If the vote passes, there will be a 10 day notice before the process begins.
