Whether out for a Christmas or a New Year's Eve party, shrimp cocktail is typically a staple this time of year. But, if you got your shrimp from Kroger, you'll want to double check it before you serve it.

According to the Lansing State Journal, Kroger has issued a recall on "nine different kinds of cooked shrimp that actually is raw or undercooked, raising the risk of food-borne illness." And since shrimp cocktail is served cold, there's no cooking process that could finish cooking the shrimp properly before serving.

If you bought shrimp from Kroger in Michigan, you'll want to check the sell by date on the bag; affected bags "have sell by dates of Aug. 25-26, 2020." Here are all the varieties that are being recalled:

  • Shrimp cooked, tail-on, 26/30, frozen service case, UPC 69439-XXXXX, package size varies.
