WARNING—Michigan Company Recalling 400 Pounds Of Sausage
If you thought making dinner was going to be uneventful this week, you might want to double-check your fridge and freezer.
There's a Michigan company that is recalling hundreds of pounds of food due to an allergen. So, you may want to take a look and make sure this allergen isn't going to affect you.
Sausage Recall in Michigan
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service says "UP Products, LLC, doing business as Meyer Wholesale, an establishment in Ewen, Michigan, has recalled approximately 400 pounds of sausage products".
This recall is not due to any kind of food borne illness, instead, it's due to "misbranding and an undeclared allergen." That undeclared allergen happens to be soy, and it wasn't declared on the label of the product that got sold to restaurants and retail spaces in Michigan and Wisconsin.
What Food Products are Being Recalled in Michigan?
Two products have been recalled: Otto Meyer’s Premium Sausage POLISH SAUSAGE and Otto Meyer’s Premium Sausage POTATO SAUSAGE.
This is what you're looking for:

5" x 8" vacuum-sealed packages containing “Otto Meyer's Premium Sausage POLISH SAUSAGE” with lot codes 24304, 24318, 24326, 24346 on a sticker.

What Can you Do if You Have This Affected Product?
If you're not allergic to soy, this won't affect you. However, if you have this product and are concerned that it poses a health risk, you can either throw it away or return it to your point of purchase.
