Charlotte Teen Will Be Featured In Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
There's going to be some Michigan representation featured in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
According to the Lansing State Journal, Charlotte teenager and high school drum major, Ryan Klann, has been invited to be one of only "two high school drum majors chosen to lead the Macy's Great American Marching Band" during the parade. Klann's performance during a drum major clinic this summer earned him this auspicious invitation, which he immediately accepted.
Klann is very excited about this opportunity, and his band director and fellow band mates expressed that "it just couldn't have happened to a nicer guy." The Charlotte Band Booster program is rallying around him too; they've already started working on helping to raise the money for Klann's expenses for the trip, which end up being about $2,500.
Klann will be in New York City for a whole week to practice prior to the parade, which kicks off on November 22nd at 9 am. If you'd like to read more about this story, or to help the cause, click here for more info.
