Lansing’s Beloved Chapelure Is Reopening Under a New Name
If you were one of the many loyal Chapelure patrons who were sad to see it close, there's some good news—it's reopening!
Lansing Area Restaurant Closures
Chapelure was a very popular coffee and pastry shop that served the greater Lansing area for 18 years, most recently in the Hannah Plaza. However, on December 15, 2025, the beloved cafe announced it would be closing its doors.
In a post to Facebook, Chapelure announced that its last day would be December 20, 2025.

Now, this beloved cafe and pastry shop has plans to reopen. But, things are going to look a little different.
Chapelure is Getting a New Name
First: it's no longer going to be Chapelure. The new name: The Flaky Croissant. In fact, you can already follow them on social media under that new name.
Where Can You Find It When It Reopens
Second: it's in a brand new location. The Flaky Croissant (formerly Chapelure) will set up shop in the former Biggby location at the corner of Hagadorn Road and Mount Hope (which is actually just down the street from its former location in the Hannah Plaza).
When Will The Flaky Croissant Open?
Construction is underway at the soon-to-be location, and The Flaky Croissant is shooting for a soft opening in the third week of February.

Many patrons have already voiced their excitement in the comment section of the announcement made on Facebook. If you want to keep up on the exact opening, make sure you follow the new page: The Flaky Croissant.
