BBC announces Top 100 funniest movies – Banana Don says – “Challenge accepted”
The BBC has released their list of the "100 Greatest Comedies of All Time". They scoured the free world, across six continents and 52 countries, asking 253 film critics to pick what they thought were the 10 funniest movies of all time.
After tallying the results, the BBC says, "Some Like It Hot" from 1959, starring Tony Curtis, Marilyn Monroe, and Jack Lemmon, is the funniest movie of all time.
Just for conversation's sake, I think everybody should be able to name at least their top 3 funniest movies - if for no other reason than to start arguments at Thanksgiving dinner or around a campfire. Here is MY list of the 10 funniest movies of all time (at least right now) - with two "Honorable Mentions - 'Cuz They're Old":
1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail - 1975
2. Airplane - 1980
3. The Hangover - 2009
4. Talladega Nights - 2006
5. Caddyshack - 1980
6. Office Space - 1999
7. Napoleon Dynamite - 2004
8. Animal House - 1978
9. Pulp Fiction - 1994
10. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy - 2004
And, because times have changed, but they still make me laugh:
Duck Soup - 1933 and The Nutty Professor - 1963
Am I nuts? Am I right?
