A Beloved Lansing Restaurant Is Back in Business
After closing earlier this year due to staffing issues, a Lansing restaurant beloved by many residents has re-opened.
Airport Tavern and Steakhouse on North Grand River Avenue in Lansing abruptly locked its doors in January, blaming inadequate staffing at the time. Bar service returned in April. The restaurant just announced in a social media post that after an 8 month hiatus, it will resume food service this week.

The announcement was welcomed with open arms by many locals.
Awesome news! We hope to make it out there and hopefully you'll have a ribeye with my name on it! - Shiu L.
Oh man I’m sssssso glad to hear this. Praise the Lord. See you soon. - Ken T.
So missed! We’ll be there soon for a sizzler. - Annette S.
I will happily add my name to the list of those excited by this new development. Airport Tavern had been one of my mainstay stops until its abrupt closure back in January. I've particularly missed their steaks, fried chicken, baked potatoes, soup and salads. I could always rely on this place for consistency, quality, and generous portions.
It remains to be seen whether there will be any significant changes to the Airport Tavern and Steakhouse menu.
Airport Tavern and Steakhouse will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 4pm to 9pm. Restaurant management says food service will be limited to dine-in only until October 1, when take-out service will resume as well.
