Went to Lansing Shuffle one day this week for lunch. It’s Lansing Restaurant Week — a good excuse to go to some new places and try some new things.

Why Lansing Shuffle Is One of Lansing’s Coolest Food Spots

If you’ve never been to Lansing Shuffle, it’s basically like a freestanding mall food court except it's packed with local places — not so much the chain restaurants. So many great local offerings.

But if I'm being honest, I left a little disappointed.

The special I got at Finger Lickin’ Chicken & Fish was delicious — no complaints there. But as I walked around to check out all the other places, I was disheartened by one in particular.

The One Thing That Left Me Disappointed

The Biscuit Bar

The Biscuit Bar is located at the very back of Lansing Shuffle. I am sad to report that it is not at all what I needed it to be.

I wanted — needed — somebody's Southern grandma back there patting up some big fluffy buttermilk biscuits.

Never mind that Lansing Shuffle is a shuffleboard court and that they have — need — “biscuits” (pucks) for shuffleboard.

I need a real biscuit bar now. My hopes were dashed!

Here’s What a REAL Biscuit Bar Should Look Like

Lansing Shuffle would be the perfect place to have a real Biscuit Bar. You got somebody's Southern grandma back there making her buttermilk biscuits, first of all, right? Let's name her Etta Mae. Etta Mae would make some amazing biscuits.

Then let’s check out the “bar”. All the gravies you could possibly want. Sausage gravy… maybe a little red-eye gravy. Oh wait, you want marmalade? We do that at the Biscuit Bar. What if I want something sweet? What if I want a little jam with my biscuit? There's a whole assortment of different jams and jellies. The Real Biscuit Bar could partner with Horrocks and bring in all these different jellies and jams you could select for your biscuit. Different meats and cheeses. Sausage patties.

Lansing Shuffle, Hear Me Out

I know that at the core, Lansing Shuffle, you are a shuffleboard court. But please explore adding a Real Biscuit Bar.
