Popular Mid-Michigan Mexican Restaurant Is Coming to Lansing
Eastwood Towne Center has another new restaurant on the way, and this one already has a following just up U.S. 127.
Gran Maya Taqueria & Cantina is preparing to open its second location at 2328 Showtime Drive in Lansing, tucked behind NCG Cinema and right next door to Capital Prime.
Gran Maya Is Opening Its Second Mid-Michigan Location
If the name sounds familiar, Gran Maya already operates a location on Ontario Drive in St. Johns. Their menu there is loaded with Mexican favorites including tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, chimichangas, and plenty more.

And yes, margaritas are part of the equation too.

Gran Maya first announced its plans for an Eastwood Towne Center location in August, saying the road to opening its second restaurant had taken "some turns," but that they were excited about where they landed.
When Will Gran Maya Eastwood Open?
Now things appear to be getting close.
The Facebook page for Gran Maya Eastwood recently shared a sneak peek from inside the restaurant, saying they've been working hard and "can't wait to open." No official opening date has been announced yet.
What Restaurant Was Here Before Gran Maya?
If you've been in Lansing for a while, you might remember American Bistro. That restaurant closed in 2022 after a couple years in business. That's what used to be in the old space Gran Maya Eastwood will be taking over.

I'm always interested when a restaurant that's already built a fan base somewhere else decides Lansing is where it wants to go next.

Judging by the photos Gran Maya's been sharing, this isn't just a sign on an empty building anymore.

We'll keep watching for an opening date, because apparently Eastwood Towne Center is determined to keep giving us new places to eat.
