This steakhouse opened in 2014 in Harbor Springs, between Round Lake and Little Traverse Bay - just north of Petoskey State Park. Vernales brings exquisite fine dining to a rather rural part of Michigan.

Vernales serves a variety of cuts, including filets, flanks and ribeyes ranging from $39 to $53. American Wagyu and Dry Aged Chops such as the 8 oz. Manhattan ($69) and the 30 oz. Tomahawk ($154) are also featured on the menu, as is a 6 oz. Japanese A5 genuine strip loin at market price.

Vernales steaks are served with whipped potatoes and a fried leek garnish.

Like most restaurants that serve steak, you can choose to have your steak served rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, or well done. However - there's another rung on the lower level of that doneness scale if you're feeling adventurous: order your Vernales steak "black and blue" - seared raw with an internal temperature of 110°.

Other menu delicacies include the Tuscan Mussels and Shrimp, broiled salmon with a spiced honey jam, and Alaskan King Crab. Get a side of Baked Crab Mac while you're at it.
