Today, June 18th, is "National Cherry Tart Day". And Michigan accounts for almost 90% of tart cherry production in the U.S.

So have a cherry tart today and support Michigan cherry farmers.

And, if you're REALLY supportive (or just want to have a good time), the National Cherry Festival is coming up, starting July 4th, in Traverse City. I've never been to the Cherry Festival, but I have friends who go every year. They usually have a pretty good airshow over the bay. And this year the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will be the headliner. And next year, the Navy's Blue Angels have already been signed to perform.

Of course, the biggest thrill at the festival this year will be attending the "Weird Al" Yankovic concert on July 5th. Not familiar with Mr. Yankovic? Many people think "Fat" was his finest work. I disagree. I believe his magnum opus was "Eat It".

Please enjoy:
