Some cities seem to prioritize family life over social scenes for singles, and that can also make it harder to meet other unattached people.

A lack of outdoor or social activities in a city can make things more difficult for singles. Fewer parks, events and/or community gatherings can lend to fewer organic opportunities to connect to other singles. Same can be said for cities with a lack of bars and restaurants.
Where Are Michigan's Worst Cities for Singles?
Homesnacks delved into U.S. Census data looking for the best American cities for singles. In Michigan, they looked at every city with a population of at least 10,000 people - nearly 90 of them - and paid attention to things like the percentage of their residents that were already married or had kids; the city's median age; its male-to-female ratio, and a variety of other things.
