Even as I write this, The Palace of Auburn Hills is coming down. The demolition started yesterday. In it's place, according to The Detroit News, will be (pinky finger to mouth) one MILLION square feet of offices and research and development space.

The former home of the Detroit Pistons and hundreds of concerts and shows was sold last summer, after the Pistons had moved into their new home at Little Caesars Arena. The Pistons played their last game at the Palace in April of 2017. The last concert was a Bob Seger show in September of 2017. Once that happened, you knew 80 acres right off of I-75 wasn't going to sit vacant for very long.
