Well, I am not a fan of snakes, and spiders really creep me out. The thought of a spider crawling on me in bed while I am sleeping is scary, not only the crawling on me but waking up with an itchy or painful spider bite is not the way to start your day.

I guess spiders serve a purpose,  like being in garden areas around your home, but I don't care lol. They eat pests that can cause harm to plants, fruits, and vegetables. They are also really helpful in killing small insects that may attack your tomato plants.

Why Spiders Invade Homes In Winter

Spiders like snakes look for warmth in homes in winter in our great state of Michigan.

So, one of the ways spiders come into your house is from gap pipes created from your sump pump. You should also look around the electrical panel where the gaps are big enough for spiders to get in.  Look for any openings around the house where they can sneak in. Have some silicone sealant handy.

Outdoor lights also attract a lot of pests, and spiders like to feast on them. Maybe get a “bug bulb” that is yellow and will not attract flying insects.

I always keep bug spray under the sink and on hand as well. I spray right on the spider web if I see one.
