Should Michigan Schools Ban Homework?

With school now in session, questions about how to make it better are coming up....again.

Should high school start later because teenagers need more sleep?

Should all schools teach the same curriculum (Common Core)?

And, what about homework? Should we get rid of it, so everybody can have more time to run barefoot through fields of flowers every spring and make snow angels every winter?

In Quebec, at least some of our neighbors to the north say, "yes". Here's the story in an op/ed piece from a professor of education in Arizona.

For the record, I think you need SOME homework. My kids are done with high school and we went through some tough homework nights at my house - but adult life is full of homework.
