Pennsylvania-Based Restaurant Suddenly Leaves Michigan With No Warning
Primanti Bros. Restaurant & Bar is a restaurant chain based out of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. When it started, it was just a small sandwich shop in Pittsburg. Now, it's a chain that's exploded across the state of Pennsylvania and some surrounding states.
As a matter of fact, Michigan was pretty lucky to have two Primanti Bros. locations...one in Novi and one in Taylor. And I say was because both of those locations closed abruptly and without warning this past Tuesday, January 17th.
Primanti Bros. Closes Both Michigan Locations
I actually found out about this through a Facebook post from my friend Chelsea, who worked there. Even she had no warning that Primanti Bros. was closing. It appears that no one knew they were closing ahead of time. Here's what she had to say,
I worked my last shift Monday night, not realizing it was my last shift. I woke up Tuesday morning at 8 am from a call from my General Manager saying corporate decided to permanently close our restaurant, as well as the Taylor location. We were all blindsided. February 28th would have been my 5 year anniversary with the company. I’m so sad about this because I absolutely loved my job and my customers.
If you happened to drive up to the location and look at the entrance, you'd find a sign taped to the door that reads, "This restaurant has closed permanently. We thank you for your patronage."
It's always sad to see a restaurant go, particularly so suddenly and with no reason. But what's even sadder is the fact that even the employees seemed to be given no notice, and are now out of a job and on the hunt for a new one with no warning.
Primanti Bros. Locations
If you find yourself really in need of one of Primanti Bros. signature sandwiches, you'll have to make quite the drive to have it. As of right now, the nearest location is in Youngstown, Ohio. But who really wants to drive to Ohio for a sandwich?
