Open Letter to All Michigan Mama’s Out There Just Trying to Do Their Best
Hey, mama. Can I be frank with you?
Did You Have a Crappy Day?
I had a craptastic day the other day. And when I say crap, I mean that literally...
The dog had a dingleberry on her butt that she got all over my couch, and when I picked up my daughter from daycare, she too had pooped herself, and her brand-new outfit.
On top of that, after spending nine and a half hours at work, I was on solo parent duty for the evening because the hubby had a work event.
I tell you all of this, not to seek pity. I tell you all of this in the hopes that maybe you had a little bit of a chuckle at my expense. But also, to tell you that I see you.
Tired Moms Unite
I see you, mama. And you're working hard.
I know that you're tired exhausted, and burnt out, and need a break.
But I just wanted to take a moment to tell you what a great job you're doing.
Even if the kids are a bit dirty and they're eating chicken nuggets and mac and cheese for the third night this week. Even if you feel like you're not doing a good job, you are. And I see you.
So mama, if you're taking the time to read this message, and you're still with me...
Easy Self Care Tasks
Unclench your jaw, drop your shoulders, close your eyes, and take a deep breath.
Now take another deep breath.
And remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself too.
