At the start of 2025, Lansing was on track to see more than 20 different restaurants, coffee shops, and eateries open within the next 12 months.

And so far, we've seen quite a few open. Places like Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, 7 Brew Coffee, 29°41° Mediterranean Street Food, and many more.

Now, we can add another three to the list!

New Restaurants That Have Opened in Lansing

First up is La Mulata in South Lansing.

This restaurant serves up a combination of Cuban and Mexican cuisine, plus breakfast. It just opened on April 26th at 5334 S MLK Blvd.

Up next is Jollof Afro-Caribbean Lounge.

This restaurant, lounge, and nightclub opened in Downtown Lansing May 22nd. Jollof serves up African-inspired food with a different menu every day.

And finally we have Bombay Mahal Indian Cuisine.

This Indian restaurant is located right where Saginaw and Oakland Avenue come together. They serve more than 60 dishes, including popular ones like butter chicken and tandoori chicken.

This location was previously home to Colala Express, a Chinese restaurant, and Fork in the Road.

Lansing Restaurant Openings and Closings

There are many more restaurants still forecasted to open their doors over the next few months. Places like Anna's House over on the west side, Big Boy's on the south side, Pizzawala's in East Lansing, and many more.

Sadly, we've also seen a few restaurants close their doors in 2025. Places like Slice by Saddleback on the west side, Aldaco's Taco Bar on the south side, and No Thai! in East Lansing.
