For close to two weeks, we told you to get ready for the northern lights to show up in northern Michigan. It's always an "iffy" thing. If the weather doesn't cooperate or the geomagnetic activity is less than forecast, it's a bust.

That did NOT happen last weekend.

According to the Detroit Free Press (who gathered some of the best online posts about the Labor Day weekend event) the lights showed up and showed up BIG. If you were anywhere near or north of the Mackinac Straights on Friday or Saturday night, you saw a pretty good show.

If you took any good photos - post them to our Facebook page!
