Michigan’s Own Christina Koch Captures Rare Photo From Space

Grand Rapids, Michigan native Christina Koch is one of the astronauts currently aboard the International Space Station. She's been there since the middle of March and plans on staying until next February. That should give her the record for the longest continuous flight in space for a female.

According to the Daily Mail, Christina and the other astronauts on board get to see several sunrises and sunsets every day, due to the the ISS orbiting Earth every 92 minutes. What is a much rarer occurrence is having the ISS in a position to be over the actual shadow between day and night on the surface of Earth. Apparently that happens only a few times per year for the astronauts. The good news is - that's exactly what happened on Monday of this week - and Christina got s photo of it.
