One of the fun things about this job is getting a chance to meet and talk to some of the athletes who play for Michigan State. Some of them go on to careers in pro sports. The majority do not. We were lucky enough to talk to former Spartan QB Tyler O'Connor a couple of times and it looks like he'll be moving on now to a job in the business world. According to a story in the Detroit Free Press, Tyler has an offer from a company in Chicago. He tried out for the Bengals this summer, but things didn't work out, so now he'll get a chance to use that master's degree in market research.

To me, he'll always be the guy, in 2015, who jumped in as Conner Cook's backup and led the Spartans, in the rain, over the No. 2 Buckeyes. That was cool.

From all of us, good luck, Tyler.
