The personal finance website WalletHub recently published its list of the "Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans" in 2026. They looked at a lot of different metrics to determine those rankings, one of which being the average ticket prices for NFL games.

Some fanbases are getting into games for prices that almost seem reasonable — the kind where you might splurge on a hot dog and a beer and not worry whether you're still going to be able to pay rent that month. Other markets? Let's just say the ticket itself costs about as much as a weekend getaway.

Some quick math — you can go to six Tennessee Titans games for the price of one ticket to the NFL's most expensive team. That's crazy!

Why NFL Ticket Prices Vary by Team

If you think about it, it kind of makes sense why it costs more to see some teams play than others. Teams with newer stadiums, recent playoff success, star quarterbacks, or massive national followings tend to sit higher on the price list. On the flip side, rebuilding teams or markets with a lot of available seating tend to be a lot more forgiving on the wallet.

Hidden Costs Beyond the Ticket Price

What really stands out though is that these "average ticket prices" don't include everything. You've still got to pay for parking and concessions and merchandise, then hope you've got enough gas money left to get back home.
