The Lions certainly are not going to be in the Super Bowl. Neither are the Packers. And now, the Steelers (don't get me started), this year, will not be anywhere near the Super Bowl.

Who to root for? For me, it's down to teams with former Michigan State players. Going into the AFC and NFC Championship games this Sunday, according to my information, we're down to two - Brian Hoyer, who is Tom Brady's backup on the Patriots or Vikings cornerback Trae Waynes. (I know Nick Foles played for a year at State before he left for Arizona, but I'm not counting him) While it would be a huge development if Hoyer were to play for more than a few snaps on Sunday, Trae Waynes will certainly see a lot of playing time against Foles and the Eagles.

I will root for the Patriots if Hoyer replaces Brady, but I'm definitely rooting for the Vikings in the NFC game.

I'm sure both teams will be pleased to read that.
