What’s Up With Campus Den? Did They Close All Michigan Stores?
A Michigan-based chain of stores known for discount fan apparel for area college and professional sports teams seems to have quietly disappeared.
Campus Den once had more than a dozen locations scattered throughout Michigan. The chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2019 to reorganize, but now appears to have closed all stores that had remained.
Is Campus Den Closed?
No official announcement has been released from Campus Den about the status of its Michigan locations, and messages left for the company have not been returned.
I went to Campus Den's Okemos location at Meridian Mall hoping to purchase a birthday gift for a Detroit Lions/Michigan State fan in my life, but instead encountered a locked gate with a "Sorry Closed" sign scrawled on a piece of paper.
Adding to the likelihood that Campus Den won't be back: the store's campusden.com web address is now a dead link, and none of the social media accounts for its individual locations have been updated in a considerable amount of time.

Pure Impact Wrestling Academy recently posted intentions of opening a location in the "old Campus Den" at Battle Creek's Lakeview Square Mall.
Facebook user Mike Cierzniewski posted a picture of the gates closed at Saginaw's Fashion Square Mall, asking other users what they might know, pointing out that the store was still full of merchandise.
One respondent claimed to have inside knowledge - that their father ran the business along with its two owners - and that Campus Den is "out of business now" and "not printing anymore."
