The Effect of Low School Funding on Education

Michigan communities that are among the poorest in the state also tend to be among those whose school districts are underfunded. Low income districts are thereby not as likely as their higher income counterparts to have access to technological resources - putting these students at an even further disadvantage.

The converse is also true. Michigan school districts that are better funded tend to have higher graduation rates, higher percentages of students that seek further education after high school graduation, and eventually higher incomes.
