Spring and summer blooms in Michigan really go wild, and I'm not just talking about the tulips.
Sure, the Tulip Time Festival in Holland is outstanding. But, there are more festivals throughout the season to enjoy too!
Michigan Flower Festivals
If you want to start planning some Pure Michigan side quests to see gorgeous flowers this year, take a look at some of the biggest flower festivals happening in Michigan.
This annual tulip festival boasts hundreds of thousands — sometimes millions — of tulip blooms to walk through. It takes places in Holland, Michigan, May 1-10. Walk through the tulip immersion garden, see Dutch life on display, enjoy food, drink, entertainment, and more. Depending on age, tickets range in price from $5-17.

This is Michigan's oldest and largest multi-community festival and it takes place in Southwest Michigan. It honors the apple blossom — Michigan's state flower. This year it takes place May 9, and there will be a pageant, a parade, and a run to take part in.
This is one of the largest lavender festivals in the Midwest and it takes place in Imlay City this year from June 5-7. There are vendors, music, food, and of course — plenty of lavender to smell, pick, enjoy, and take plenty of pictures for your social media.
Mackinac Island Lilac Festival
This 10-day festival is Mackinac Island's most historic festival. It celebrates lilac flowers that grow all over the island. Some trees are over 100 years old. This year it takes place from June 5-14. You can enjoy all that the island has to offer in addition to the gorgeous blooms, seminars, activities, entertainment, a 10K run/walk and more.

With all these gorgeous flowers throughout the spring and summer, there are plenty of Michigan festivals to enjoy along the way. So why not make it a point to check one out this year?
