Mackinac Island’s Lilac Festival Cancels New Parade
If you were planning on going to Mackinac Island's Lilac Festival, there's been a few changes. A couple weeks ago it was announced that they had a new Grand Stationary Parade, but the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau staff announced on their Facebook Page that they will be canceling certain events.
The following events at the festival have been canceled according to MLive.
- The West Michigan Bootscooter’s dance
- Mackin-Paw Dog Day
- Grand Stationary Parade
The 73rd annual Lilac Festival will be June 4-13, 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, some events will be held in person and virtually. Despite the recent changes made, festival goers can still count on the Michigan Cornhole Tournament, Lilac Festival Queen and Court, Lilac Book launch, and more to take place.
For more information regarding the Lilac Festival and COVID-19 updates, you can visit Mackinac Island's website.
